Lewis County Government is currently accepting applications for the position of Solid Waste Director to oversee operations at the Lewis County Transfer Station.


This is a very important leadership position that is responsible for managing daily operations, supervising employees, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a safe, efficient facility for our community.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven management experience

  • Experience supervising employees

  • Ability to operate heavy machinery

  • Basic mechanical knowledge

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Good work references


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Starting pay: $20–$22 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)

  • Optional health, vision, dental, short-term & long-term disability insurance, and Air Evac

  • Mandatory state retirement through TCRS

  • 1 sick day earned per month

  • 1 week of vacation after first year of full-time employment

  • Paid County Holidays, Administrative Days & Inclement Weather Days
