The staff of the Lewis County Extension Office welcomes the citizens of Lewis County to come by our office and let us help you with your information needs. Paula Spears, Extension Agent and County Director is responsible for all family and consumer science programs and the administrator of the office. Jason Morris, Extension Agent, is responsible for adult agriculture programs and youth 4-H audiences. Kay Henley, Administrative Support Assistant II, assumes all secretarial and related duties for the office. Janice Bridges, TNCEP Program Assistant, does programming related to nutrition.
Agriculture and Natural Resources
Programs educate farmers and homeowners and other agricultural and horticultural producers on the latest management practices needed to solve problems and improve production and marketing. Programs also help Tennesseans protect the environment and improve the management, marketing and use of natural resources.
Family and Consumer Sciences
Educational programs focus on strengthening individuals, families and communities by addressing critical issues and needs, such as teaching parenting skills, improving nutrition and health, managing family finances, addressing child care needs, and others.
4-H Youth Development
The 4-H program helps young people develop the life skills needed to become capable, responsible and caring citizens. Through local 4-H clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camp and many other activities, 4-H’ers have fun, make lasting friendships, enjoy “hands-on” learning experiences and get involved in their communities.
